That william Kerr is a genius, i have seen some of his work and he really knows his stuff. Myself and many of my colleagues are exciting to see the outcome of Gosford. We know it will be a winner if Mr. Kerr is involed.

A couple of years ago I was on the RYSS (Regional Youth Support Services) management committee and saw first hand the wonderful work that is carried out by RYSS an association that is leading the way in providing real and lasting alternatives to the youth on the Central Coast across social, cultural and employment fields.

RYSS is an independent, non profit organisation for young people, providing support services to develop, promote and encourage participation by young people in all levels of the community particularly socially and in arts, employment and vocational training.

The N.S.W. government was funding one of their youth workers and suddenly the funding was stopped which will mean that this wonderful youth worker will be put out of a job in the very near future and equaly important the Youth of this region will suffer.

Now more than ever the youth need this Youth Arts Co-ordinator who is responsible for community development regionally, organising and coordinating workshops and training for young people across the arts.

Let us hope that enough people in this region will write to the N.S.W. Government and demand that funding be re-instated for this wonderful organisation that is doing so much for the youth of this area.

The news that Arts NSW will not provide funding this year for the Regional Youth Arts Co-ordinator position is a devastating blow to the young people of the Central Coast. It is also extraordinary that this program would not have come about without the support of state government to provide opportunities and assistance to thousands of young people in the region and now the state has taken the funding away. Surely our elected state representatives can ensure that common sense prevails and see that this decision is reversed and the program is not lost to the young people of our region.

Public Sector Probity. There are a lot of meetings which influence the decision making process, yet have no minutes to show who and how influence was used. Some Councils are already putting their public meetings sound and vision on the Net, in the interest of open and informed governance. Certainly the attendance at Gosford City Council meetings is sad with perhaps five citizens in the gallery on a bad night. The full discussion heard in open council is not a matter of public record in the Agenda. There is no good reason today that pod cast of meetings related to public business are not freely available and in common currency.

I would love to see the film Australia to see how well the directors incorporated the inevitable Australian cliche's into the plot and the scenery such as our slang and kangaroos in the streets of Darwin.
I also wish to confirm that Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman actually worked hard enough to justify the millions of dollars they earned - subsidised by the taxpayers through the Australian Film Commission.

Now that the election is over, will the sham Independents on Gosford and Wyong Councils now declare their true status?Resigning from the Labor and Liberal parties before the election, to stand as Independents, is just treating the voters with disdain and contempt. What about the Electoral Commision investigating these shenanigans?

Ed Grunt.
Below the line voting is the way for thinking voters to properly exercise their own vote. Reflection on the impressive performance of independent candidate Helen Ryan poling first behind Holstein with not quite half the number of first preference votes Chris Holstein attracted. It is a shame more voters don’t make the extra effort.. After all voting below the line is how we are able to put garbage representation back in the street rather than on opposition benches during our next State ballot. Personally I would like to see voting above the line become un Australian. Because the bulk of people who take that easy option allow back room deals to effectively steal the real power from the proletariat. Below the line means you retain the power to make clear distinctions between winners and losers. Putting winners in power and losers back in the street where they can earn their superannuation like the rest of us !
